confirmed, just downloaded a fresh copy of the exe and still has no text in the gui

for the exe or for the jar file? we're talking about the exe.

neither A nor B works or worked for me.

mc 36853 someone stated that their version of 'a' was working. so i tried it. it didnt work. it had exactly the same issue as 1.7.2 no text.

i'm not sure you understand, i downloaded A in an attempt to fix the text problem with the most recent version. where the text is not visible in any windows and it does not create a usable, connectable world.

i only downloaded A because of another post dealing with a similar issue.

i just now tried the one you linked, same problem, no text in the boxes, world created cannot be accessed.

i tried 13w42a and am having the same issue, no text visible. please tell me that this is being worked on

ok, i found 13w43a, downloaded it, which version of minecraft is it supposed to work with? when i tried it with 1.7.2 it told me server was outdated. when i tried with my older versions, i get a connection failure.

how do i tell which version i have? and where can i get a copy of the older version that works?

ryan, my system self built as well, never had any problems with server/client until updating to 1.7.2 today.

the .exe gives me a blank window yet generates, but not connectable.

running the .jar with a bat as shown above generates a world but is not connectable.

dunno what the issue is.

also, in order to capture the screenshot of the 'error' i had to wait nearly an hour for it to stop repeating the 'generating' error. once it stopped, i was able to scroll up and screenshot it.

i found a link on how to run a .bat to get the 'server' up and running. using

java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft_server.jar

as stated in the error at the start of the message.
running the jar still does nothing, however doubleclicking the .bat file, runs the server. but it is not accessable. i get an "connection lost" "end of stream" error

i think i found the problem, its at the start, looks like a problem with java not acting right. i'm no pc guru, can you walk me through fixing this?

checked the page you referenced, so as i understand there is no fix for the .exe and no workaround for the repeating 'generating new properties file' issue.

please note that it's not finished running. i have no mods, and have not changed any system files. i executed the .rar file by right-click, open with, java binary. it brings this up and stays like this. it also does not create any world folders logs or anything else.

i also updated java today.

so how do i fix it?

i have no text or anything in the 'server' windows. tried the workaround using the .jar file instead of the exe and it is stuck in a loop stating that it's "generating new properties file". and has been doing so for roughly an hour now.

so, if the .jar doesn't work properly, and the server.exe file doesn't work, what is the workaround?

how is this resolved? i looked at the referenced duplicate, its not the same thing. where is the fix?

the referenced duplicate states and shows, text in the fields.
