Particularly while filling in maps, I walk over unloaded chunks, but this time, I fell into the void and died when they didn't load. The render distance was on 16 chunks, and certain sections of the world were just taking a very long time to render in. In the past, I've walked on unloaded chunks before just fine, and they rendered back in after about 10 seconds of waiting. However, I've never walked over unloaded chunks and fallen into the void before. What should I do to make the chunks load correctly? Is there a way to recover my lost items?

Yes, I was able to see underground structures. If it is corrupted, then how did it become corrupted, what does this mean about the world, and is there a way to un-corrupt it?

Were you able to see the inside of the world in these "unloaded chunks"? As in, could you see caves, stone, lava, etc.? Because if you could, I am sorry to say, but your world has corruption.
