Affects 1.17.41
It does appear to have been fixed between the last beta I was consistently playing and now the full release. I cannot seem to reproduce anymore.
Im aware this ticket is closed, but I am still experiencing this glitch in 1.16.0.61 beta. Have had this bug since roughly 1.2.
Appears to have been fixed in beta 1.16.0.61. Sent over 100 guardians through a portal with no crash when entering to the nether and all guardians made it through.
What Auldrick said is a good point. I play on a powerful Windows 10 computer that allows for far more intense graphics than my Xbox One does, yet the spawner does not display an animation for me. Power has nothing to do with it.
This issue is also present in the current nether update beta. If you leave the end through the end gate and come back to your respawn anchor in the nether, large portions of the nether do not visibly generate. The same can be said for coming back from the nether to the overworld, as your post states.
It seems to depend on how many mobs go through now. Around 20ish mobs and i was able to go through with no crash, though only one mob went through. Around 100ish mobs and the game crashed yet again.
Definitely a way higher concentration of mobs than before 1.16. Magma cubes, pigmen, and skeletons are constantly spawning in my blaze farm whereas they practically never did before.
@noopaloide, that is a huge find! I was able to reproduce this consistently with the basalt, and it makes sense why it always happens to me as I use silk touch on all of my tools.
However, there is still one thing that isn't affected by silk touch exclusively, and that is the two new fence gates. It happens immediately with any type of tool, enchanted or not.
Were you able to see the inside of the world in these "unloaded chunks"? As in, could you see caves, stone, lava, etc.? Because if you could, I am sorry to say, but your world has corruption.
After a bit of investigation, I believe this issue was caused by the resolution of MCPE-65390, which renamed all of the items listed here by their JSON file handle.
This has happened to me as well on Windows 10. Very frustrating.
Jayson, unfortunately I crash when item entities cross through a nether portal as well, however it only happens once and the item does not disappear when I make it through.
Very annoying bug. I thought my game was glitching out, lol.
I could be wrong, but I don't believe they changed that in 1.14.60 as it is still the Buzzy Bees update. It sounds correct in beta 1.16.0.57, so it will come in the Nether Update for sure.
It isn't just the End or Nether. My base is underground and fully lit up, but sounds are nearly constantly playing whether I'm above or within the base.
I have had the same thing happen as part of my guardian farm. It doesn't need to be many mobs, but they will crash the world upon entering the nether in their radius. Upon getting it to load after some lucky attempts, all of about 200-300 guardians vanished.
I have also just come across this issue myself. It doesn't even need to be a lot of guardians and the nether will just completely shut down on your world because it cannot handle them. Oddly enough it works 100% fine on the phone version. It also doesn't need to be a 2x2 area as I sent about 15 guardians through a fresh portal and it still crashed the game.
That is a gravel patch, which has been a part of natural generation since the Java Beta. There is no issue here.
Experiencing the same issue on Windows. I believe this has to do with the new change to how their sound fades away the further you are.
