RTX: blocks far away are illuminated with daylight, even if they are in the dark

If you create a dark tunnel, as the length approaches 8 chunks, the far off blocks will glow as if they are in daylight. You have to be close to 7-8 chunks away in order to see this effect.

Examine the image, below. The blue blocks in the back are in total darkness, if you are close. But if you recede, you will see them illuminate blue, as if they are in sunlight. I have replicated this a few more times in various long tunnels.

FYI, there is a tiny bit of emission in the texture that is glowing. It's only in spots of the texture, and it's about half brightness, at that. It barely glows when you are near the block with that texture.

When flying around in dark caves, when you get to a spot that isn't quite rendered in completely, it will appear that there is light from outside coming in, but once it renders in it returns to normal.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Find an RTX resource pack

  • Find a decent sized cave

  • Start Flying around

  • You may notice in larger caves, it appears a bit lighter, when you first come in.

I'm not sure if there is that much to be done about this, as it just seems to be part of the rendering process.

Edit:

afterward, I did try again with a resource pack that didn't make ores glow, and received a similar result. The glowing ores seems to magnify this affect a bit
