All buried treasure maps point to same treasure

Description update from MCPE-80902:
I found in total 8 maps on my world and all pointed the same treasure even the one map I found 5000 blocks away

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Find any underwater structure (except portal)

  2. Get the treasure map (if there is one) and load it so the "X" appears

  3. Repeat the same thing in any structure in any ocean as far as you want

Observed Results:
The map always points to the same "X".

Expected Results:
The treasure maps should be different (especially if there are found very far away).

Screenshots/Videos attached: Yes (The drawn picture shows where the map was found and where the "X" is marked.)

Original Description:
This issue appeared for me with the 1.16.0.63 Bedrock edition release but appears similar to MC-10802 in the Java edition.  Treasure maps worked fine for me in 1.16.0.61.

All buried treasure maps, no matter where they are found, lead to the same place: in my case I found four maps at approximately 1000 blocks from the treasure, one map at 8000 blocks, and three maps 18000 - 20000 blocks away.

Edit - the Java edition bug is MC 108082

I can confirm this, I have the same bug in 1.16.0.63, all treasure maps I find, point to the same location I already looted, even those maps found far away in newly generated chunks.

It is happening to me too, i'm playing in 1.16.0.64

Still exists in 1.16.0.67 beta - I travelled over 6000 blocks and all maps I found referred to a buried treasure I'd dug up approximately 300 blocks from my spawn location.  As a suggestion on identifying the problem and generating a solution, the game seems to be generating a map that is for the closest buried treasure to spawn as opposed to the closest to the location the map was found.

Ditto for 1.16.0.67 - I was able to find 4 treasures and the last one basically "stuck" the new treasure maps. Dozens of maps, further than 12000 blocks, all point to the same godforsaken islan

>the game seems to be generating a map that is for the closest buried treasure to spawn

In my case the treasure that bugged out was the closest to 0 , y , 0 - my spawn was in the 1000s for some reason...

I was so tilted with this that I have actually obliterated the entire chunk that contained the chest (including water blocks), down to the bare bedrock. Will see what happens when I find another treasure map.

This bug has been prevented new members to my realm from enhoying the fun of finding new treasures which they have been dying to do for months. This needs to be a priority bug and we at least deserve an update to the status to fixing it.

I still have the problem. World was generated like almost 2 weeks ago so it's still pretty new. Double checked in creative for a second chest off-center of the middle of the chunk but there was nothing.

I think this has been resolved? Since at least 1.17 I have had each buried treasure map point to a unique location as expected

can anyone reproduce this in the current 1.18 updates?

This issue seems to have been fixed around 1.16.100 or 1.16.200. To be clear, the issue tracked on this report was that every treasure map in an entire world pointed to the same buried treasure.

Getting a few treasure maps in a small area that point to the same buried treasure is not covered by this report.
