Mobs spawining in well lit areas in lare amounts

We have extremely well lit bases, and before the recent update this was not an issue. two out of three of us had creepers just spawn in our houses which are are very well lit. The picture below without mobs is the level of lighting I have on each floor and mobs are still spawning.

Can confirm this is an issue on our Bedrock Realm also. Nice to have Creeper suddenly next to you in your base that you have worked for over a year and it explodes destroying your fancy autostorage system 🙂

Thank you for attaching screenshots to the report. It looks like you have some spots that are not lit quite high enough to block monster spawns. Keep in mind that torches have a light level of 14, monsters spawn in in light level 7 and below, and spawning is based on the light level of the space just above the floor. Also, you need to take into account the height of your light sources, so, for example, the lanterns in your base rooms hang from a 4-block-high ceiling, and that means directly below them the light level above the floor is 12. In your Zombie Mine picture, the space to the right of the zombie appears to be spawnable. This is what I count for that room you are in:

For checking light levels, you may find it helpful to temporarily turn off smooth lighting (in video settings). For more information on calculating light levels see the [Minecraft wiki|https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Light#Block_light.]

Finally, it may help to note the following: in previous versions of Minecraft, it was common for the cave monster cap to be filled by monsters hidden in small, inaccessible caves. The chance of this happening would increase as you spent time in an area, for example building a base or exploring and lighting the visible caves. With the new despawning system in 1.16, the hidden monsters are now able to despawn regularly, so new ones can spawn in other places. Monsters should now regularly respawn on full blocks in places you have already visited but have not fully lit.
