Minecraft Bedrock crashes when i open a chest, my inventory or try to craft something.

For the past few months (at least), Minecraft crashes when I open a chest, my inventory or try to craft something. I'm playing on a Dell laptop (Latitude E6400) Intel Core2Duo CPU P8700 2.53GHz with 4 GB RAM installed (64 bit operating system) updated to Windows10 when I was more or less forced to a couple years ago.

I used to be able to play fine but for the past 2 or 3 months the game crashing has made it virtually impossible to play. If i just wander around the world (mining blocks, etc), i have no issues, when i open a chest to move items around (sometimes immediately, sometimes after 10 seconds or so), the game freezes and i have to close the window and restart the game. Sometimes I lose items in the middle of crafting, but usually (I'd guess 90% of the time) I do not lose items, the game just freezes. When I restart, sometimes my character appears where I was 20 seconds before where I was when the game froze.

I'm aware my laptop is kind of old, but all other programs run fine. If this issue is due to my laptop, can you suggest a workaround? It is VERY frustrating (to say the least) to play Minecraft when it constantly freezes when I'm in a chest or crafting something.

Also, something else that may or may not be related...when i release the 'W' key, my character keeps walking (but I can still turn right or left) for 2-5 seconds. This makes walking in the Nether very dangerous!

Thank you for any help you can provide me. Please, please help me play this amazing game again. 🙂

To add a bit more info...the game froze when I was in the 'settings' menu before launching the game (I was attempting to turn down the Video settings, to increase performance...which was unsuccessful). I'm guessing the issue is on my end and not a program 'bug'; I was hoping to understand what was causing the crash or what component on my laptop may be slowly failing (is it a RAM issue? Video card going bad? ...etc). I did every diagnostic procedure I could find on my laptop and it passes every test so I don't know whats causing my unique issue (I don't see others complaining about this issue).

Thanks again! 🙂 Paul

Does this happen on all worlds? Or just one?
