At first I tried to make my name bolder and then I couldn't type. I tried exiting out, Going in game, and closing the app and nothing worked. Anything I can do to fix this?

Since you're on iOS, fixing/replacing options.txt might not be possible. You can also uninstall and reinstall the app (this will not affect your singleplayer worlds, but you will have to reenter your servers). Please post any further comments on MCPE-8750 (which has been reopened) and vote for that issue to get it fixed sooner than other bugs.
Minecraft: Pocket Edition supports file sharing on iOS as of Alpha 0.11.0. If you do not know how to do use file sharing, see this article by Apple.
Get a fresh version of options.txt and replace your current one with the fresh one
