Melons and Pumpkins grows completely random directions. The expected behaviour to favor growing towards the sunset (west), if possible, has changed to completely random.
The behaviour of sunflowers is still the same, they always point to the sunrise (east) no matter which direction you face when planting them.
This affects the efficiency and aesthetics of farms , please fix this to have a consistent behaviour again like before.
My farm that was a nice looking farm with alternating pumpkin and melon rows now looks like a complete random mess, and efficiency is less than half than before.

Why would you assume melon/pumpkin will grow always to the east? According to wiki they grow in random direction:
"Planted pumpkin seeds grow a central stem that, after maturing, generates pumpkins randomly on adjacent vacant dirt/grass/farmland/podzol/coarse dirt."

See the attached melon2.JPG.
I quote: "The attempt to grow a fruit happens when the mature stem would grow again (to "phase 9") and is not already adjacent to an instance of its fruit. First one of the four sides is chosen. In Bedrock Edition, the preference is: west, east, north, south. That is, if the block to the west of the stem is available, the fruit will grow on that block. If not, the block east of the stem will be checked, and so on."
