Red Stained Glass produces incorrect block breaking particles

Workaround

This resource pack gives red stained glass the same breaking particles as other glasses by adjusting the texture's alpha layer color input black level (~ opacity?) to match other glasses:

Just tested this on iOS, can confirm.

Affects 1.16.20. These incorrect particles can also be seen when running on top of red stained glass.

Caused by two things:

  • MCPE-56842: partially transparent particles don't work properly, they only show up for parts of the texture greater than 50% opaque.

  • MC-176824: red stained glass is the most opaquely textured glass. This affects bedrock edition too.
