Mobs disappear in the Nether Portal.
it's desperate: I empty an entire Nether fortress by transporting all monsters in Minecarts to a Nether portal. They usually go to the portal well. But they never arrive in the overworld. Even if I follow them through the same portal, they're gone.
I turned the portals off and on again, no success.
Strangely enough, some portal pairs work quite normally. So there seem to be parameters that I cannot influence and possibly arise from an error.
Before the Nether update, it also worked normally.

I do not understand it either:
When trying in creative mode I noticed the following:
simply hitting the mobs in their mine cars is not enough
but all mobs from brood eggs go through the portal.
everything works normally in an old backup world
migrated
I have been experiencing this too, with dropped items and mobs disappearing . When I follow them through to the linked portal they disappear, but after quitting then re-opening the world they appear back where expected.
While testing in my survival world (and a creative copy of it) I have noticed this to only occur consistently when entering a portal from the nether not when entering from the overworld. I tried moving the affected portal in both dimensions and removing all other nearby portals in both dimensions and after doing both of these it began to work as expected. I believe it could have something to do with having multiple portals nearby causing the entities to not arrive properly in the correctly linked portal until re-opening the world.

Recently I pushed a piglin carefully into a portal in my survival world. It was a different portal, but there was also a second one nearby. Funny enough that the Piglin did it (shouldn't he run away from the portal?). However, it has not arrived in the overworld.

I solved part of the problem by me.
The portal that I mostly go through is over 44 blocks away in the overworld than the portal that the mobs went through.
With this they were deleted immediately according to the new despawn rules.
But: That doesn't explain the disappearance through the same portal ... which I already had.
I was unable to reproduce this bug.
