Ever since 1.16.2 my iPhone 11 Pro Max has been overheating super fast. I play on 20 chunk render distance and I have the best iphone available so overheating should not occur at all.

Well you might want to try reducing your chunk render distance and seeing if it helps. Your phone could also be overheating due to other reasons. This may also be general hardware issues.
