Every time I try to upload my world in Realms I get the error message: Upload Failed! (504). I also get two other codes from time to time Upload Failed! (-1) or (500). This is incredibly frustrating as I paid for a realm and now I can't play with my friends in our world.

I have the exact same problem. Each time it upload, I get the error 504 while realm is verifying my world. I tried to use an other world slot, restarting the game, optimizing the world and nothing is working. It's very frustrating.

i have found the solution. you have to close your realms before uploading your map

I tried that and it's still not working. I even try to create a new world and upload it and it failed. Hope that will be fix soon.

Wow, after many try, it's now working. I re-open my realm and close it again and now it's work.
