We got kicked from realms last night with a message saying it was locked for fixing.
Got back on today to find that there are now major problems with the world. These chunks had already been generated but have been replaced with ocean.
I have attached screen shots showing the hard edge which follows chunk borders.

Possibly pointless because I have deleted this world anyway.
Still getting the 'this world is in fixing' message on new one though.
Really laggy too even if I'm playing on my own.
Hey Mark. You should have backups on the backup pane, can you check there?
We've had some crashes and lag the last few days. It looks like you suffered the negative consequences of that and I apologize. Right now the majority of those problems should be fixed and numbers are looking up on our side.
If you still have lag, please fill out https://help.mojang.com/customer/portal/emails/new so we can investigate your realm individually. It would help us understand what is going on. Thank you.

Minecraft Realms for Java Edition has received a lot of updates and fixes over the last two years, so this issue has probably already been fixed in the meantime (e.g. because it was a temporary outage or an issue with the base game).
Since this bug report has not been updated since at least two years, please let us know if this is still an issue in current versions of Minecraft and update the bug report if applicable. If this is no longer an issue, please let us know as well. Thanks!
