This bug has been happening to me and my friends on my realm for about a year, it usually occurs when we are loading a lot of chunks. The game will crash and set our progress back roughly 30m-1h, sometimes the inventory is saved after the crash but sometimes it is not. The chunks we had loaded before the crash stay generated but anything done in them is reset.
