REALMS-12270

Realms crashes and rolls back progress

It's actually from 1.21.3, but that doesn't appear as an option for me. Essentially what's been happening is that while me and a couple of friends, never more than 5 at a time, and sometimes when there are only 2, are on the realm we will suddenly have intense rubber banding. The realm then crashes and stays down for about 2 minutes. Upon reentering the world we are then sent back 30 minutes. This is not an exaggeration, it's always about 30 minutes of time that is lost from this bug. It seems to be unrelated to whatever the players are doing and more like the game just decides to quit on us, as it happens when people are doing more intense things like ancient debris mining, but also while people are just chilling in their own bases. It has happend 4 times in the last 3 weeks, but I'm sure if we'd been playing a lot it would have been more.

This has happened to me too multiple times on a friend's realm I play on, in Version 1.21.4. It happened exactly as described here. There is no set time or activity that it happens during, just seemingly at random times.

It's very annoying when you log back in after the crash, and you've lost all progress gained in the last half hour.

It also seems to maybe be an unintentional dupe glitch, with mixed results. It happened tonight to myself and a friend, and when we logged back in I was missing an entire shulker box, gone completely from the world. My friend, however, ended up with 3 shulker boxes in his base, and those same 3 shulker boxes (uniquely named with unique items) in his ender chest.

I'm a little confused/disappointed on why there are so few upvotes on this issue.

This is a Mojang server issue, and can confirmed on the latest snapshot.

Similar issue here that got a lot worse with 1.21.5, but it was happening previously too. Player count doesn’t seem to affect the crashes we are having and we will often lose up to an hour or more of progress.

Same issue, sometimes happening multiple times a day, which is super discouraging when it comes to playing. I’m not exactly sure how much time we are losing but it’s definitely a significant amount. Last night it happened once, then we were playing again afterwards and it happened just from us logging out, not crashing. We do get crashes that cause the rollback somewhat often as well. Playing in 1.21.5

Same here. This happens at least 2-3 times a night and the rollback ranges from 10 minutes - 60 minutes with the most common being 30 minutes.

This is seriously frustrating when we pay money for servers to play with friends and are met with these series issues.

Playing 1.21.5

Also having this issue on a realm just started this week. Rollback for 30 minutes every time. Maybe something to do with the backups?

i have this issue too! 30 minutes of intense building and exploring just gone! i pay for this service and this is unacceptable!

I know yesterday I had it happen 3 times it only to happening after I went to the nether it just it’s best to try not to load any new chunks and try not to make to many farms those things tend to make it worse when the lag starts don’t disconnect from the server pause the game and wait sometimes it doesn’t crash every couple of minutes unpause and break a block if it still does not work wait till it stops I find that when it is not glitching it is best to disconnect and load back in that way the cutback won’t be to severe also if it does cutback by crashing going into the world then disconnecting then going back in may reverse the cutback it happened only once

Also it has happened mostly when I am the only person on the server just letting everyone know that it can happen when you’re alone
