Can't earn achievements in Realms

I host a survival realm server (10 person realm) that my friends and I play on. It’s been open roughly a month and cheats have never been turned on. Despite this I cannot earn or progress towards any achievements. No marketplace addons have been used on the server, purely vanilla. I am stumped as to why I can’t earn achievements on the realm but others can. For example if I throw an ender pearl over 100 blocks I don’t get the achievement, and no I don’t already have it unlocked on any other world. This is the case for all of the achievements. Resetting the achievement progress also does nothing. What do I do to fix this?
