Addons Don't Tranfer When Uploading Worlds to Realms

When attempting to upload a world that has resource and behavior packs applied (after triple-checking the uuids and verifying no errors with the packs), resource and behavior packs do not transfer to realms. It seems that they are purposely excluded, as the world and level data transfer successfully.

This issue occurs both on Windows 10 and on Xbox One, leaving me with access to only vanilla textures and behaviors on realms.

I hope that this issue is resolved promptly, as several people interact with my realm frequently in the course of a day, and it is currently unworkable due to the lack of functionality of addons.

My friend is having the same problem. We play on a huge server together and he tried to add things today and it reverted everything to vanilla  😞

Having the same problem! Trying to apply custom texture packs to realms also reverts back to vanilla textures. I’ve spent hours looking through the files making sure it was nothing I did wrong. Rechecked the uuids so many times and everything. Hope they come out with a fix soon.

Im having the exact same problem

Moved to the Realms section. This bug has been reported to our internal bug tracker for further testing and a fix.

Mega_Spud, when would we see a bug fix for this? Some of us are losing valuable realm time.

Yes, quite experienced. I build systems frequently.

So, I've managed to import textures alone following the process listed below:

Testing Process:

  1. Navigated to my world file ('minecraftworlds')

  2. Deleted the .json files for known resource and behavior packs and old resource and behavior packs

  3. Deleted all packs from Resource Packs in the world folder

  4. Deleted all packs from Behavior Packs in the world folder

  5. Downloaded a pack as a test 'Flow's HD 64*64

  6. Replaced some block .png(s) in the Flow folder with custom selected textures

  7. Applied the pack through Minecraft to the world

  8. Reset my Realm

  9. Replaced my Realm world with the Minecraft world I just edited.

Result - All textures transferred successfully.

Note: I have yet to try behavior packs, however I will continue my bug testing and see if I can successfully transfer a behavior pack to the realm.

Hey @GTARPS. We tried your refrigerator example and managed to upload it just fine. We also tested various custom packs from sites around the net and all the ones we tried were successful.
There is one caveat, however. If you have uploaded a custom pack previously, you need to bump the version or change the uuid for the changes to be visible in Realms. This is true across all realms globally, so if you re-upload the same version, any changes will be ignored. Could this be what you were hitting?

I will close this bug for now, and urge anyone with a similar problem to check the versioning and the format of your manifest. If you still have a problem, please register a ticket at https://help.mojang.com/customer/portal/emails/new and we can investigate on a per-realm basis.

That is not the case. I don’t know for sure what exactly is going on here but I know what exactly causes the bug; for me, at least. I upload a custom pack to my realm. Yes, I’ve used custom packs before but I changed the UUID. The addon will work fine UNTIL the realm is either A) opened and closed without changing other settings or B) renaming the realm from inside of the game. To my knowledge, that is what affects it. Note that there may be more causes. To add on to this, however, I cannot go on with this bug still because I close and open my realm at times for various reasons. I cannot just stop that. I think I can speak for a lot of us here and say that we are desperately waiting for a fix... our money is going into this!

This issue is happening again.
