Players Can't Interact in Realm

I subscribed to a Realm and uploaded my world on 1/6/19. I invited my husband, daughter and son-in-law to my Realm. My husband and son-in-law accepted right away and joined the Realm with no problems. My daughter accepted a day or two later, but she was unable to interact in the Realm. We assumed it was an issue with her Xbox.

Yesterday she tried to join again and it still isn't letting her interact in the Realm. She logged out of her game, logged back in and still unable to interact. She deleted the game, re-installed and came back into my Realm and still unable to interact. We can see her and she can see us, she can move and walk around, but she can't break blocks, open doors, activate pressure plates, etc.

I downloaded the world back to my local console and she joined the world...like she has many times before...and the same issue, unable to interact when she used to be able to.

I then added my other daughter (who's never played in my World) to my Realm and then my World and the same thing is happening to her ID as well.  I can see her, hit her, etc. but she can't interact. It's as though their hit boxes are broken.

Everyone is playing on separate systems (5 total Xbox One's) and on the latest version. Is this a World Corruption issue or a bug or both?

I know I can restore the world from the first day I created the Realm but there has been a ton of work done in the past week so it's really not an option to loose all the building that's taken place.

Download the world in the realm and have your daughter join that. If the visitor icon shows up next to her name, change it to member or operator then reupload the world

I invited her to the Realm and made her an Admin.  I did not see Visitor next to her name, but that's possible....? I can check on my other daughters account this evening and see if that's the issue with her.

With that said, I also made her an Admin when I downloaded the World from the Realm to see if she could interact there and nothing, however I did not have her check after I re-uploaded it to the Realm because we decided to start a new World and upload that to the Realm to see what happens and.....it worked. She could do everything there.

So,  I'm at the point where I think its a corruption issue, but it's a weird one if that's it.
(FYI, I didn't keep the newly created World in my Realm, I deleted it and re-uploaded my normal one)

When you download a copy of the Realm world, what is the default player permission setting set to?

[media]

It might be worth trying to adjust it this way:

  1. Download a copy of the Realm world

  2. In the settings, change the default player permission (to anything)

  3. Save the changes by exiting the settings, or opening the world

  4. Exit the world, and change the default member permission to 'Member'

  5. Save the changes again by exiting the settings, or opening the world

  6. Upload this copy of the world to your Realm

This should ensure that the world default setting is set correctly. If that works, you can then upload that copy of the world to the Realm, and it should work correctly.

This worked!! I'm not sure why the world is uploading without the Permissions set to Member, especially for someone who was already a member of my World. I also don't know why setting the permissions in the Realm didn't affect the players ability.

Never the less, this worked and I'm so happy! Thank you!

I'm glad you were able to get it sorted! 🙂
