Realms Reverting Each Login

My Microsoft realm keeps reverting to a point in time at each log in. After working in the realm for some time on Windows 10, I logged out. After logging back in some time later only some of the work was completed.

After modifying more of the terrain I logged out again. I immediately logged back in after an idle disconnect and everything looked to have been saved. I logged back out again.

30 minutes later my son logged in on the xbox1 and the realm reverted to the same point I had previously observed, and all of the new terrain edits were missing again. This only started happening after the 1.13 update to the realm.

This has happened to me twice already when accessing a Realm via my Nintendo Switch as well.  In my case, I entered the Realm, built a bridge over a river, exited out, and then later, logged back in and I was back where I was before, bridge no longer built.  It felt like a groundhog day loop.

This too also didn't happen until after I updated to 1.13.0 on my Switch, and my wife had updated the Realm to 1.13.0 as well.

I'm having a similar issue but I want to be sure it's the same conditions you guys are having. I recently updated to 1.13 as well and I went on doing normal things in my world and I noticed after a while I would log back in and my progress would be reverted which I thought was strange. At first I though maybe the server crashed and I didn't notice or maybe I had too much stuff going on in the area but I think I was able to rule those out after realizing that the only time I had a revert was when I was updating the maps on my wall.

What I tested was I would first close the realm, then reopen it making sure it saved my location. Then I would knock the map off the wall and hold it, updating the area. I then would close the realm and open it back up and I would have a revert. So I tried this many times making sure this was my root cause before reporting the bug. See if you guys are getting the same issue too... The area I'm updating had quite a bit of changes done to it but I also updated another map and it also causes reverts too.

Now that you mention it... I did pluck a map off the wall and check it to get it to update and reflect the changes I had made.  The house I built in the village has a town map set up on the wall, and I would check it to see it update after making specific changes.  Namely, I was looking for it to show this bridge over a river I had built.  The map updated fine, but later, when I logged in, time had flowed backward to before the bridge was built.  I hope whatever is causing this and the Bell issue gets fixed and soon.  I want to get this town in order!

Same behavior as above has happened multiple times since the 1.13.0 update.  We have a realm that is used by both XBox and Nintendo Switch.  We're done playing on it until the issues is resolved.

I've been taking backups of the realm every exit just in case. I just logged in after not having anyone log in over night and things look to have resolved themselves. I removed a single test block before exiting as a point of reference. The block was still removed when I logged back on this morning so I'm not sure if this was a short term server side issue or if this is an actual bug with the client communicating save points with the host.

Either way, I seem to be in ok shape again.

My realm will not save upon selecting "Save & Quit" and will not create new backups. Currently if there is only one player online and they log off, the realm resets to the previous backup. Taking the realm offline, downloading the world, playing in it offline, then saving and quitting works. The realm can then be re uploaded and it will make a new backup once, then it will not make any more once again.

Edit: After logging in today I did get a realm back up after 30 min, I placed a block then re logged and it did successfully save on it's own after the backup.

Just experienced another revert. I'm not messing with any maps, just doing general edits around the world, moving blocks and storing and consuming items in game. The last revert was close and almost not noticeable if it wasn't for my inventory updates not saving. It seems that there is a point in time that Minecraft will grab an image, prior to logging out, but something seems to not be happening on Save and Exit.

Ok, now this is interesting. I'm moving a village around and moved all the beds away from the center of my created village so they're two distinct villages due to 1.13 changes.

All of the beds were moved and all of the stations were moved as part of these changes, upon logging in, only the beds remained in their moved position and all of the workstations reverted.

The interesting thing is, I placed a wool block down just prior to logging out to ensure that, if I saw it on log in, I would know things were ok. After logging back in this morning, the wool block was there, the beds were still in their place, but the stations had reverted. I'm not sure how Minecraft tracks the different kinds of objects but that seems way off.

Edit: the beds did revert as well upon closer inspection. My inventory was also reverted, but the wool was still placed.

Thank you for your report!
