REALMS-878

Renewed subscription to Realm, Realm set to peaceful, all mobs disappeared.

Renewed a realm subscription after a couple of months.

Logged in, all mobs are gone. Both Survival worlds under the realm name are now set to Peaceful, all mobs generation is unchecked, and so all mobs have disappeared. System won't allow a change back to Survival.

Yep, you're not the only one. However, we just created a world and when we want to set it to normal/survival, upon entering the word all settings are reverted to Peaceful.

Yes, Exactly. These were NOT set to Peaceful the last time we logged out of them. They were never set to Peaceful. And now it keeps changing them back to Peaceful.

I tried closing the realm, changing the settings to Normal, turned mobs on, restored a backup, opened the realm. Checked the settings again. But every time I log on it, it is back to peaceful with all the mobs gone. Check the realm settings, back to Peaceful.

Glad to hear we're not the only ones. Getting frustrated though, as we can't do anything and we are paying for an empty realm. We don't want to do anything in the world since I have to assume the only way to get the animals and villagers back is to restore a backup.....

Mojang support said we should just reset the world, which is a ridiculous suggestion.

It must be even worse for you though...I mean, I imagine people having a animal farms, NPC's etc around their realm. and now suddenly everything is gone. A lot of people are posting about it currently, this isn't something Mojang will ignore I am sure of...they can't.

I have sent an email to custom support too. they replied today that the previous problem, which was that everybody got a "realm (500) internal server error" after editing the "World Options". the error itself was fixed today, but the problem that you can't edit anything in the Realm itself via "World Option" still remains.
I expect an email back from them soon as it only took 1 day.

I have the same problem .For a few days we played on a world all is good animals people and zombies are on and there . yesterday i create an new world becuse we wanted to play without cheats all is away . on all the worlds .

The Realms team are aware of the problem and are working on a fix.

Mobs are now spawning for us, but any mobs/NPCs which we originally had (horses, sheep, villagers etc) have all disappeared...have we lost them for good? Really hoping they will reappear somehow..!

Thank you for your report!

Yes! The Villagers, Dogs, Cats, and all the Animals are back.

I did NOT test by just logging in. I was paranoid so for anyone else who has an available backup, this worked for me:

First, I fixed the realm settings. They had been changed to Peaceful and all spawning set to OFF. I changed it back to Normal difficulty, and turned all the mob spawning on. I then loaded a backup that I knew was prior to the first day I logged in and everything was missing. I logged in an everything is fine.

I don't know what would happen if you just fixed the settings and then logged back in, i didn't want to run the risk of having all the backups get outdated and have only saved empty worlds.

Thanks for the quick response on this, Mojang team.

How can this be resolved.  Our realm has had no mobs since the last update.  No slime, no turtles, no squid, no creepers, etc.  When will realms be fixed?  Or is our world permanently broken
