Items that require typing don't work

I have heard cases where this is working properly on some realms. But I have experienced and heard cases of essentially any item that requires writing simply does not work. Once I've finished typing on a sign, the text just disappears. Renaming items on an anvil just puts it back into the input slot without renaming it. After writing and signing a book and quill and exiting the book, it just becomes a regular unwritten book and quill, and I lose all my progress writing in it. The only thing that still works and has typing is the chat and commands. Anything else just reverts it back to the original unnamed form. I do not have any resource packs on my realm
