Logins Being Throttled at one IP Address

Moderator Edit

This is an account issue. We do not have the tools to help you on this tracker.
Please contact Minecraft's Customer Support, they should be able to whitelist your IP.

I work for a company that teaches Java using Minecraft. We are located at 128 colleges in the US. We've purchased a full account (Minecraft.edu denied us) for each machine.

At our large locations where 50-100 students are logging in at one time (each with separate accounts/passwords), we're noticing that after the first 30-or-so log in, the rest are getting error messages that read: "Error! Unknown e-mail address or password." If we tether to a phone or try from our office, the account/password works fine. So it's something to do with the IP address, we think.

Accounts are being denied after a certain number of logins; but the next day they'll work.

Unfortunately, we can't split computers over multiple IPs as we're on college campuses and they're stingy.

This is not a bug of the game, but most probably a security measure at the login servers.
Please visit the Mojang Support Center and write a message to customer support.

Got a notice that you were sent from Customer Support -> Tech Support -> Here. Leaving this ticket open until confirmation / further clarification.

I appreciate it Kumasasa. We know there's a lot of people out there doing things the wrong way...we bought hundreds & hundreds of accounts to keep it legit. Trying to figure out the best place to get it fixed and/or advised of another method.

Is there a Whitelist for IP Addresses that we could be added to? Is that a feature of the PC version?

We've a problem like this since a few weeks. We have two accounts on the same IP adress, which both don't work anymore. Our neighbour can't login or make a new account on our ip-adress. All accounts work fine on other IP adresses. We get the same errors.
We found out that our IP-adress was on the blacklist since december. This morning we scraped it and now it is still not working.

This is a technical issue and something that customer support would probably not be much help with. What a poor response to a real problem.

This actually falls under Account Support. Throttling happens when multiple users fail to enter the correct password, and with 50-100 people, this can be the case fairly easy. Any whitelisting can only be done via account support, and alternatively, there is the Education Edition.

It's not a problem, the system works as intended to prevent attacks on user information.

I realize Mojang has this marked as resolved and works as intended but this is a real issue for us as well. We have a camp of 50 kids coming in every week and they all want to play Minecraft but are blocked after the first 20 or so students login.
