Same problem here. Here the test I made :
Create a flat world of total height N
Place a support cube (wood, stone, whatever) at 0, N, 0
Place four frames on the cube
You'll find them at N, N, 0 🙂

same here under windows 10 with shipped java.
Auto-jump allows to jump but in weird ways (going front allows 2 jumps when they're not too close, when going down the avatar sometime jumps, jump is ok when using the side of the avatar ...)

Hello.
Would you mind giving the seed so I can compare with java 1.8 ?
regards
Edit : got one half tree @ -495 ; 90 ; -315 with seed -44376528653664897. But the tree was correct after having re-created the world. (java 1.8.171 on w10)
"Resource pack" That's what I did. I dropped 1.13-pre testing, went back to 1.12.2, installed a mod in forge and now I'm waiting for these mod to be updated to play Minecraft again.
The problem wasn't "I don't like" but pixelized too big fonts in 480p scaled to a computer screen (4k for example) and not a phone one becomes quite unreadable. Unicode fonts, when the user installs required (non latin) fonts in Windows worked really well. That's not the first, and I think not the last, time Mojang decides to remove a feature from Minecraft. Disappointed but oh well, I guess I just won't try betas anymore

After some little tests, herre is what I have :
to reproduce the bug :
remove .minecraft directory.
launch minecraft to create fresh one. then i a shell :
cd $HOME/.minecraft # go to HOME in Minecraft dir
mv saves $HOME # move "saves" to another place. Here, just in Home
ln -s $HOME/saves . # create a symlink to saves in current dir
then launch minecraft.
The game doesn't crash until 17w46a and crashes since 17w47b (I just tried all beta releases after 1.12 which also works).
Strangely I tried with a symlink under Windows (7 I didn't try under 10) last week and the game didn't crash.
Regards.
Files joined, sorry for being late

Hello,
Starting and playing at 1920x1200 is ..ok !
Switch from and to full screen tries : current, 1600x1200, 1920x1080, 1440x900, 1280x900 all are .. ok !
Great job and thank you !
New things I saw and tried that might help to understand what's happening.
The NVidia panel says 1920x1200-0-0 instead of 1920x1200+0+0 when resolution is wrong.
Pannings (-0-0) are set each time I put minecraft to full screen, whether minecraft resolution is set to "auto" or "manual".
When I force minecraft to 1920x1080, it restores 1920x1200-0-0 instead of 1920x1200+0+0
Bug still appears on 1.12.2.
I tried restoring 1920x1200 while minecraft is running using xrandr but it doesn't work.
New try with NVidia 375.66 and minecraft 1.12 (vanilla as always) on latest debian stable+backports. Same 960x1200 instead of 1920x1200 problem (switch just before showing main menu after Mojang Logo).
New try with latest launcher (1.6.76) copied from Windows, and 375.26 NVidia drivers.
Screen resolution is corrupted (960x1200) after having clicked "play" but switch to correct 16x9 ratio (1920x1080) after having loaded game. Mojang should have updated it on Linux platform too as it's better ^^ (as faster too I think)
New try with latest beta (16w43a) and 367.44 drivers, without any environment by running "xinit' and launching minecraft in the terminal. In this case, resize is done when minecraft switches after "Mojang" logo.
Hello,
Just for information : I added 16w39c to give a try and issue remains the same. Resolution is altered to ½Horiz x Vert (960x1200) when set to native (1920x1200 or 1200x1920 rotated) on my single monitor but not in 1920x1080, 1600x1200, 1600x1050... (Minecraft vanilla + faithfull 32x texture pack + optifine on 1.10.2, no shaders, no mods if it can help)
Issue is still present in Minecraft 1.10.2 under Debian Jessie and NVidia non-free drivers, no debian ljwgl installed, and only one monitor.
Minecraft resizes the screen to 960x1200 if screen is 1920x1200. But if I switch to 1920x1080 using "xrandr -s 1920x1080" before starting the game, screen doesn't flash, isn't resized, can switch to and from full screen without problem. I can normally resize my screen after exit with xrandr -s 1920x1200. I so created a simple script which does this. to play at now.
Tests :
I created a new world everything worked fine.
I removed and placed back fences and plates, everything is ok with ghost skeletons 🙂
Just a noise spam because an arrow hit the ground at the same place of a fence and I opened it.
