Hey guys I also play minecraft on my laptop and has AMD discrete graphics. So i had this same issue too, but there is one workaround i figured out. Steps are:
1) go to settings app
2) type graphics settings
3) check if your drop down is set to Microsoft store app
4) Select minecraft in the second dropdown and click "add"
5) now minecraft should appear in the list below the dropdowns.
6) now click on minecraft and click on the "options" button
7) it will give you options of graphics cards which will probably be intel HD graphics and AMD graphics. now select "power saving" which is the intel hd graphics and click save.
