My son's Samsung Galaxy Tab E (it's only a year old) Minecraft PE--SAME EXACT problem. It started after the update, I believe. He's used it for a year just fine, we legitimately bought game from Google Play. I also tried uninstall/reinstall of Minecraft, to no avail.
