I purchased Minecraft on the Google Play store (couple years ago). My boys have been able to download, install, and play Minecraft as they are "members" of my family library.
My son installed (well, the app auto-installed) the new version of Minecraft a couple days ago and now he is getting the following error message:
It appears you don't have a license for Minecraft. Make sure you have downloaded and installed Minecraft from the store
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program many times from the Play Store and I keep getting this message.

Thanks so much for the quick advice.
I had high hopes but no luck. Even rebooted between the install and reinstall (deleting the folder before rebooting.)
Additional information (not sure if I shared this before...)
1) The app works "fine" if we turn off the WiFi before starting it up. We can turn the WiFi back on once he's got the program running.
2) I deleted the com.mojang folder (after saving his worlds elsewhere) but now when I run the program, it isn't recreating that folder again. (Even when I made a new world and then saved out of it...)
Any additional advice? I can post a screenshot of the Play Store screen if you want to "prove" that it is in our family library...
Thanks for any help anyone can give....
This might be an issue peculiar to your device, but firstly, have you also tried changing your storage location to External?
Go to Settings>Profile>File Storage Location
That should make your com.mojang folder visible again at the very least.
Yes. Still an issue.
He's got a Nvidia Shield tablet so there isn't a physical external storage location. I did change it to "External" though and that got the folder to show up. Uninstalled, deleted folder, rebooted tablet... still the same problem.
Interesting note: Got the same issue after installing, at first, even when the wifi was off. However, running it with wifi on (and getting kicked out) and then running with WiFi off again loaded up the program. Same this is true as before, can start the program without wifi and then turn wifi on once it is running and things aren't a problem...
The tablet is a duplicate of his brother's, which doesn't seem to have the same problem (although has had different software at different times.)
Next attempt is the wipe the tablet clean and start over to see if that fixes it..
Resolving this specific issue as fixed (in an earlier version) - for users still getting the error message please see the newer ticket MCPE-46210 where will will track any new occurrences of this.
I ha e also been running into this kind of issue was able to play it fine during the day but once I went to open the app again it told me that it couldn't verify that I had the app. Not really sure what to do about it because I can't open or play on it.
@unknown Please make sure that your email address is the same for the play store and for the account with which you purchased the game, which was the issue as mentioned in the linked ticket:
I am logged in to google play through one account and pay with a different email address. Both emails were linked at one time. I noticed they were not anymore. After going in to my phone Settings/accounts/added the account I pay with I was able to go into google play and see both accounts.Â

Also, you may need to make sure your internet connection is connected and stable while the game verifies your account.
Hello. I know this is an old post but I wanted to post this somewhere as it's not commonly mentioned in the hopes this helps someone. Before troubleshooting, make sure your date and time is set correctly down to the minute or enable use network provided time located in Date and Time in settings. My clock was set ahead manually by three minutes due to how I use the device and that was enough to invalidate the license check. Setting that fixed my problem on Android and may work on other devices as well.
Have you also tried manually deleting the game folders when reinstalling?
Backup any data you don't want to lose, then try the following:
Backup your MinecraftWorlds folder (if you want to save your worlds) (Device storage > games > com.mojang > minecraftWorlds)
Uninstall MCPE
Delete the com.mojang folder (Device storage > games > com.mojang)
Reinstall MCPE from the play store.
Run MCPE and if it works restore your MinecraftWorlds folder
Sometimes a clean install of the game will help with these kind of issues. Please report back so we can see if that resolves the issue or not.
