I totally agree, this slow crouching and the mechanics are really annoying.
5 seconds to crouch and stand back up are too long, as well as the problem of falling off edges.
I was hoping for this to be a bug!
it just happened to me as well.
Went to the end for the first time in this world with the goal to get some shulker shells.
I got a good whooping and died several times, after the 10th time or so i came back to fight since I just managed to destroy all the crystals. but there was no dragon, end return portal open but no portal to any end city or drop a dragon egg.
will have to open in creative and try to get to the end like this, which is quite disappointing.
no achievement to be gained anymore which is a bummer.
