I dont think this is specific to a person's PC at all.
I just started having this issue recently on a Mojang Realms run server. I do not have the issue happen on any of the other Realms they operate that I log into. Just one of them. That to me makes me suspect a bug or something about their server. I tried updating Java. I allow Minecraft and Java through the firewall. I have been playing on my friends Realm for hours today no issue after being booted repeatedly with the above Java Exception immediately prior multiple times on another Mojang Realm. I think this is clearly an issue they need to reopen. I have been looking at forums all day. Do the owners of Realms even have access to timeout commands?
and for clarity I was mid actions when I was booted like chopping down trees.
(one of) My named tamed Horse despawned after the last update while I was away working on my created NPC village. It was in a large pen with 3 other Horses. I was about 140-150 blocks away and in the same chunk usually but I may have left it since the village sits at the edge of the chunk where my Home is. I am not sure when it vanished just that it did at some point between trips, I noticed when I made a trip back I found the pen had only three horses and it was missing one of the named ones. Very frustrating.
I don't think so. I use a double row of fences at a single height level. The outside of the pen has a cobblestone wall (not block) a couple blocks away but it is open on both sides so I dont see how they could have glitched through a double fence and past the open block to die inside something. There are no solid blocks at height for the horses to suffocate unless it fell through the ground.
I made the pen large enough for 4, the horses rarely bump into each other and I never see them all at the same spot.
My horse despawned. It was named too. Not sure when it despawned but I am pretty sure it was after the most recent patch because I didn't start my village until after that and it vanished some time after that point. I have been working about 140+ blocks away creating my own village and at some point during that time a horse I had used a nametag on it has despawned.
It was not the first Horse to despawn. The previous Horse despawned before the 1.6.2 update
I have a large pen with 4 horses. Two were named. Now only one of the named ones remain.
I play on a single player Survival game with no mods.
It was a cured villager. Nope the whole place is well lit and completely fenced in to prevent spawns inside the fence. The only disappearance I have noticed was when I slept in the village I was building right after I had cured a second one. Both were villagers, one blacksmith and one librarian. They both ran into lit "homes" as night began. I entered a building an used bed. Left bed and could only find the Librarian.
Because of this I have refused to use the bed I have in the village for worry that the issue would repeat. It leads to very interesting nights. Since then I have cured several other villagers and none have vanished mysteriously.
I don't think anything got him. I saw both villagers before I used the bed. I had done a count, checked to see they were both inside houses before I used the bed. Two villagers. Slept. One villager.
I built a village that is completely fenced in. I cured one zombie villager and watched him wander around and into homes. Then a couple nights later I cured another. I decided to use the bed I had put in one of the buildings when I had been skipping nights to get the fence up safely. Next day only the second villager is there. The first has despawned.
I dont see how there is not a bug to this.
On a Realm my portal worked fine several times. Someone else used it and suddenly it was throwing up portals to random locations on trips back to overworld, underground, nearby on a beach. if it was because the first portal was off and so that the portal back wasn't at the right alignment why did it work fine for me several trips back and forth but then suddenly stop working and start creating new portals?
Fixed it by dying in Nether after breaking portal and rewalking through overland portal, it made a new portal on top of the cobble building and that one has yet to make a new one back. But previous to that just breaking and reusing same spot had same results, so I agree that it seems like the idea that the relocating to best nearest spot caused it but why did it work fine for awhile before starting the behavior?
