Yes,the issue is still there on 1.16.50
The game used to run well only in 8 render distance but now it runs slightly better on 16 render distance than how it was before. However, the problem of lagging still exists when the game is loading a chunk. Which means the game still lags on iPad mini 5(2019) Always does. Because you load a chunk.
How to reproduce the problem:
1) Just play the game. You’ll see the lag but to make things faster:
increase render distance to 16 and walk for a bit. The game will lag for a bit. 20 and above causes more lag and 32(max for me) never stops lagging.
what I expected was a Minecraft experience at a silky smooth 60fps and no lags whatsoever The processor inside it is no slouch.
It doesn’t even run well by using the lowest graphics possible. Absolutely ridiculous
An update for the new nether update. The game still runs horrible. In fact,it runs EVEN WORSE. If nobody fixes this till the next hotfix,I’ll let apple know that the devs refuse to fix it. It’s been more than a year, yet it’s still here
@jeffrobintolentino might be. I think this game also had issues with iphone xs(which uses the same processor) but that one could be fixed. The iPad runs well on other games I play but runs horrible only in Minecraft
@Conan Courtney I agree, but they choose not to for some reason. If it doesn’t get fixed for a while,I’ll have to report it to Apple itself. This issue was here since it launched in mid 2019
I forgot to mention that this issue was there since 2019 according to other users(which are also complaining about this)
Done. The problem still exists even in the latest version. For some reason the team doesn’t seem willing to care about fixing/optimizing some issues. The fps drops to unplayable amounts when it’s loading a chunk so the only way I’ve found to prevent it is seating still and doing barely anything. Might as well not play it all together.
The tablet I use is not the only affected model either. I’ve heard similar complaints about lag in other iPads too.
Its such a shame that a phone with a 4 year old processor runs Minecraft better than a tablet with a 2 year old one. The funny thing is that A12 is a massive leap compared to the A10. It doesn’t heat up as much as the A10 as well. Pretty neat stuff.
