Can't confirm on my Switch 

I see what's happening. It's supposed to do that. You're not able to see what items the villager will offer until you level him up. 

Opened the trade interface multiple times today and had no issues. Could not confirm. 

Was not able to confirm on Switch. Works normally for me.
