It's simple, you just need to place that command block in the perma load chunks of the spawn or you car use the /forceload commande to keep the chunk load all the time.

By doing that you command block will stay loaded all the time and continue to set in survival.

But why not just keep your cheat off when you open a lan ?

I am on mac OSX 10.11.6 too and i have the same issue. On my mac on OSX 11.0 there is no problem so it look like this bug affect only the olders versions but it's very ennoying for me and all the other mac users i imagin... I hope you will be able to solve this bug quickly. Good luck and thx for your amazing job mojang
