for me it's been a while this happen, i think since 1.9.0 when i was still playing on xbox, i did try fresh install but it doesn't change anything. i also noticed that it always try to download the profile picture of my friends/followers xbox account, which i have more than 1000 ... maybe that's why after a few days it start to be very slow again (having or not : world / RP / BH pack doesn't change anything).
also here my specs (laptop msi GP76) i7 10870H 32gb ram ddr4 3200 MT/s 2 ssd corsair MP600 CORE XT RTX 3070 Laptop GPU
i also have minecraft bedrock on my phone, and it takes less than 30 sec to start
as i say it's been a while it happen, i did got many different (computer) device and it still happen, so i came to the conclusion that it was something to do with my account.
Happened to me too, after dying in a nether fortress I clicked main menu and now i can't get back in. The loading bar gets stuck at the very end and the whole game seems to freeze. I've tried restarting my PS4 and I even redownloaded the game to no avail. I'm lucky to have a copy of the world but if this doesn't get fixed I'll still be losing a month of progress.
I did those test : Install server Then run it , so it create a new survival world and the error appear (no no/no rp)
Then I stop the server, replace the world by mine (copy the entire folder and rename it bedrock level) then start, same error appear and script didn’t work (but the world I copy in local was working well. (And has experimental feature on (all of them)
Then I tried to invite a friend and he has the same error
And about OpenGL compatibility, according to this forum post, Minecraft requires OGL 2.1 since 1.7.2. The existence of this mod would also support that theory. Have you backtracked on that change? And if yes, why do we require OpenGL 2.0 for a game like Minecraft?
The new launcher does not seem to have a 32-bit version available for Linux. I've tried both the "Debian / Ubuntu" and "Other Linux" versions you offer, both of them do not launch on my configuration. I've also had no issues trying 1.14 via MultiMC on another machine of mine.
Is 32bit deprecated in LWJGL, perhaps? Or do you no longer supply the 32bit libraries for it?
Yes this problem only occurs with smooth lighting on (the bug is "Custom 3d Model Lighting Bug on smooth lighting" for some reason). Minecraft thinks that every face that is facing for example "up" should have smooth lighting like the face that is on the very top of the block (the one touching other block). But I just noticed that it may have never been fixed in 1.8.x. In 1.8 the smooth lighting doesn't seem to work on custom models with cullfaces. That made it work like with "smooth lighting off" and kind of fixed the issue.
The incompatible thing is probably caused by "pack.mcmeta" because I used the same as in 1.8.
It's just a simple model to show the issue, sent in 2 resourcepack because in snapshot 15w31c and above "cullface" has been slightly changed and they aren't compatible.
It has been fixed on 1.8.x (don't know about earlier versions). 3D models worked with smooth lighting, all you had to do was set proper face culling. Now the problem with smooth lighting and 3d textures is back.
It hasas been fixed on 1.8, but it's back with the change to models (or it's something else that caused it) in snapshot 15w31c.

This was not helpful, I was just told off because of my hardware.
EDIT: Nevermind, I think you edited your post, and I will seek to submit feedback instead.

It also affects 1.11.2, but there is no lag anymore.
But it looks so strange. But it's also looks Nice. 🙂
Thanks, I didn't know that.
