Also happened in our realm - one of the other players there said she lost a lot of work she did yesterday as well today. For me personally, I had logged out early today at 02:00 and didn't log in again until about 18:00 CST, but all the progress I had made between 18:00 and 20:00 was lost. However, I did log out and back in again since then and had some changes saved. Just made more changes to test it out and will look back at it in the morning. 

Also started in my realm on 4/28/22. So far, I have been able to use /w as well as /say, but /me did not work. (And friends and I are too new at this to know how they can message me back.) All new signs have letters disappear immediately, but as far as the small number of signs WITH text, some are newer, but some have been in place for at least a couple of months, since we started the realm. Can't find any pattern as to which ones retained their text vs not. Also noted that so far, looks like the same signs are blank (or in a few cases, with intact text) for all players, regardless of who placed the sign or when it was first placed.
