come to think of it minecrafts sounds are Generally 50% volume but the sound of specifically grass blocks are a quarter volume.
I can see the grass blocks volume being a separate issue, its most noticeable right before or after u dig a dirt block (which matches the rest of the games volume, still being too quiet however)
I literally confirmed it for myself and any average joe can do this: if you add a sound into minecraft it will genuinely be played at about 50% its actual volume, i played the same .ogg file from my desktop by double clicking it and its indeed twice as loud as in-game, this proves that minecraft (or at least my setup, persisting thru re-installs of minecraft on my system) purposely lowers the volume of sounds even tho master volume is 100%

Honestly i played minecraft a bit recently and it genuinely seems worse than half, like a third or even a quarter of what it should be imo.
its not my headset or speakers btw and i am on windows 11, idk how im the only one with this problem
you really think I haven’t?
i can say for sure it is not volume mixer related.
