This is not a duplicate. That bug is impaling not affecting drowned as they are not a water mob.

This is about drowned not being considered a water mob when they should be.

The actual bug has nothing to do with tridents or impaling (which is working as intended).

try changing your VBOsetting in-game

also try a complete reinstall of minecraft
make sure to get backup copies of your worlds first along with any resource packs or servers

you shouldn't be having problems

install optifine if you haven't already

using this chicken farm

this was meant to be fixed in 15w47a

java 8 update 66 (build 1.8.0_66-b18)

i started a world in 15w47c (latest at the time) and had this problem with chickens when i was trying to get them to my chicken farm using seeds to get them to follow me. when there was a one-block high tall grass next to a block the chickens would jump and spin until i pushed them out of the grass. not sure if it is the same with the 2 high tall grass or anything else.
