Motherboard is ASUS ROG Strix Z790-F Gaming Wifi with Realtek USB Audio. Note sure if any other components are relevant.
Uninstalled Realtek drivers, rebooted, and the problem went away when using (I assume) built-in Windows audio drivers. Re-installed the Realtek drivers, rebooted, problem is back. So it may be driver related but it's still odd that no other game or app does this, just Minecraft.
In my case when it hits 40% if I just switch to a different audio device and back, audio works again for Minecraft and other apps. I have to repeat this dance when exiting Minecraft.
If I start Minecraft with another device set as default then audio keeps working continuously although there is a noticeable pause at 40% loading still.
Can provide more details if needed.
I have seen similar. I've also seen the strange darkness in existing terrain which hasn't changed, and I've seen terrain changing without any lighting problems. So they might be two separate problems. Also on 1.19.30, seen on Windows + Xbox.
Also reproducible on iOS.
That's great news, thanks. Hopefully it's not going to be too long!
The problem definitely seems to be worse since the last update but my concern with them just lumping it into this old bug report is the right people might not know how bad it has become. I just hope they've noticed how broken it is, would be nice to get a response at least from Mojang to confirm they're aware of the new problems.
Completely agree, this is a pretty bad bug. I understand bugs happen but the lack of response from Mojang to confirm it’s being worked on is really disappointing. I’ve also replied to the support ticket I first raised to ask if this issue is being addressed or looked at all, no response.
Same problem here.
Playing with my son in a realm on my Xbox account. If I sign in and connect to the realm I’m in the right place with full inventory. If son joins as player two he’s at spawn with no levels or inventory.
If we quit, my son signs in, connects to realm, he’s in the right place with full inventory. If I join as player two I’m at spawn with no levels or inventory.
we’ve seen occasional weirdness before like this but this is entirely reproducible every time since 1.16.210. I hope it is fixed soon as we can’t reliably play together. I guess he could sign in on his profile, dump inventory in a chest, join as player 2 with me, travel from spawn and collect items. Then he would just have lost levels. But it’s not ideal and we don’t know when the problem will happen again and his inventory is in the ‘wrong’ player again, which would presumably empty ender chests too.
Tomorrow I may download a copy of the realm to play as a local world and see if that helps but based on previous comments I’m not optimistic.
1.20.71 is still problematic for me.
