I will try them out if I find the time. The realms I was playing on have mostly died since I quit.
This issue forced me to quit the game since I was mostly playing on realms. I will try to reinstall and check it somewhere next week.
Thanks for confirming Alec, looks like that is a dead end then.
An update from my perspective. It seems to be mainly running or moving in a boat. Walking is usually "ok'ish". I've tried installing Java 8 on my windows XP (it's possible), but it only helped a tiny bit and introduced some weird artifacts, so I had to revert back to Java 7. I'm using a 32bit OS though, so that's in line with what other people have mentioned. If I put render distance and lighting as low as I can, I'm able to play. Sort of.
I'm running Dual Core 3.2GHz, Nvidea GTS 250, 4G RAM and Windows XP. I've seen people with a different spec and OS complain about a similar issue though. It seems to be a 32bit or 64bit with Java 7 issue so far, or does anyone still have the problem with 64bit and Java 8?
Kumasasa , I tried both 1.8.8. and the new snapshots. I'd say that both are a significant improvement from before. It might just be me, but the snapshots seemed to give me a lot faster chunck generating and thus smoother running experience. It's both very playable compared to when I last played (the early 1.8 versions). So I could actually play the game again if I find a new fun realm. Thank you for that.
So as far as I'm concerned, this seems to be resolved. I can't speak for everyone ofcourse.
