It is intended, to make signal 1 it needs 1-10 entities

I couldn’t find any official source because it was added in 0.13.0

note: the carpet on the string needs to be more than one block high, if there is a string touching the ground and a carpet on it, it will appear in the map

I put many string on top of each other and in the top I put a carpet, and it didn’t appear in the map

For better tracking, please update this report to only include copper bars and the other about carpets in the air by string

I can confirm, I copied your command and it gave a normal stair

I can reproduce:

1- Place a pressure plate and an iron door with 5 blocks between them

2- Connect them with redstone

3- Activate the pressure plate as you run to the iron door

4- You will pass it but will go back when it closes
