New report of same issue. Device = Nintendo Switch Lite Switch System Version = 9.1.0 Region = Australia/New Zealand Time Zone = Brisbane (e.g. Brisbane/Queensland/Australia = GMT+10, daylight savings not observed so GMT+10 all year round) Minecraft Version = 1.14.1
Details of issue = new Switch Lite, purchased on 26-Dec-2019. Updated to latest system OS version before installing anything else. Only one local Nintendo device account. Bought Minecraft on cartridge, installed and updated to latest version before doing anything else (e.g. before playing, logging in to either Nintendo account or Microsoft account). Was able to create Nintendo account on device and log in to that without issues. Attempted to sign in using existing Microsoft CHILD Account (e.g. separate Microsoft Account linked to my Parent account) but not successful. Account is successfully used to log in to Xbox One S console AND is successfully used to log in to Minecraft on Apple iPad - my son also plays Minecraft on both those devices.
Sign-in behaviour as follows: 1. From Minecraft main menu, choose 'Sign in with a Microsoft Account' button 2. Message displayed about Saving purchases to a Microsoft Account with options for either 'Save to Microsoft Account' or 'Leave on Device' (same as screenshot IMG_20200113_012000.jpg on ticket). We choose Save to Microsoft Account as the intent is to sync all maps/etc. between multiple devices all running Minecraft. 3. We receive the Sign In screen that says to go to aka.ms/remoteconnect 4. On a Microsoft Windows 10 PC, using Google Chrome, we go to that web site - put in the code from the Switch, log in to my son's Microsoft Account - using his Microsoft Account email address as log in name - he does NOT have mobile phone number associated to his Microsoft Account. This is successful as we then get the following message on the PC screen: All done! You're now signed in to Minecraft for Nintendo Switch. You can now safely close this window. 5. Absolutely nothing happens after this. E.g. the Nintendo Switch Lite still has the Microsoft Sign In window directing us to go to aka.ms/remoteconnect - I have left it like this for what I think is a reasonable amount of time (at least 10 minutes) and it never goes away. 6. This leaves us with only two options - hit the B button on the Switch to go back; or click the cross in the top right corner of the Microsoft Sign In dialogue box. 7. Regardless of which option we try (I have tried both choose B (go back) and tapping the x on different run throughs), we then get the exact same screen as per screenshot 2020011912164300-11B64E28AD7A49CA9EC8AC007BE858C6.jpg previously logged on to this ticket by another user. a. From that message if we choose Go Back, we go back to the screen that asks about Saving purchases to Microsoft Account - as per step 2 above. b. This is where it gets weird - if I again choose 'Save to Microsoft Account' - it goes back to the Minecraft main menu AND shows my son's Microsoft Account handle where the 'sign in to microsoft account' button was before. c. However, even though it now seems to have successfully logged in - it hasn't properly or at least fully - none of the content that he has on other devices running Minecraft - Apple iPad and Microsoft Xbox One S console - are sync'd down. This include minecoins, etc. We know that his Microsoft Account does have all that sync'd successfully as he uses both the Xbox console and his iPad and they synchronise successfuly between them.
If I now try what others have suggested and go in to Profile, choose to sign out of his Microsoft Account; then Clear Account Sign in Data, fully close Minecraft and then re-open it again, I am in the exact same position as where I started in my step 1 above. If I try to log in, I get the same result as detailed above (at least it is consistent).
Not sure if there is any local device logging that I can access to find out what is happening under the bonnet (so to speak) - if you provide me instructions, happy to pull this and send it in.
