Had 2 more occurrences. First was on a secondary player on Xbox multiplayer. As the main account, I noticed in time and saved and logged out. When we logged back in, the player was alive and then successfully able to pass through the nether portal.
During the second occurrence, the player was remote logged in using a Win10 laptop, didn’t notice in time, and died with maxed netherite weapons, tools, and armor. Then multiple players died checking the possible coordinates where the portal could have glitched to see if the gear showed up.
This bug has cost us two sets of netherite gear. To compensate, I’ve switched to creative to recover all the losses due to this bug and others. Bummer, as it’s quite a large and developed world. All the advancements now freeze and I’ll have to start a new world to complete the remaining advancements.
This has been happening to us recently. Xbox One, rev 1.18. 4-5 players. Usually one player joins by Win10 laptop over Xbox live, the others are local console multiplayers. 2 players have suffocated in the portals. We heard that often the person is transported randomly to the incorrect coordinates on either the overworld or nether.
One one occurrence, we went hunting for the gear in the nether after looking in the overworld. We found the experience orb, but the gear seemed to have despawned. One player was close enough to the drop spot without realizing and probably allowed the countdown to occur.
The second occurrence, we were faster in looking in the location in the overworld and the nether. No one was close to allow despawning. We could not find the gear anywhere.
The third occurrence, the person logged out of the world prior to dying. They logged back in after a minute and they were able to pass through the portal successfully. They did have damage from the suffocation. This person was using the Win10 laptop.
doesn’t seem to happen to the main account person. Only the multiplayers who join.
Additional info: Spawner activity continues as long as I remain logged in as a single user. I’ve let it run for hours and it keeps generating zombies. As soon as someone joins as a second player, the Spawner will stop working. This happens both on local Xbox multiplayer as well as a Win10 laptop Bedrock login to the same world, as an additional player. When the extra players log out, the Spawner will not restart normal function. I have to exit the world. However, if I log back into the world, the Spawner then begins to function again. I do not have to fully quit the Minecraft program to restart the Spawner operation, just exit the world and log back in as a single player.
I am also having this problem on Xbox One, rev 1.18. Spawners work fine while I am logged into the world alone. As soon as another user logs in, the spawners stop spawning. This occurs even when we stand right next to each other in the kill chamber. This happens in a double zombie Spawner room, a single zombie Spawner room, and a skeleton Spawner room.
Oliver, I’m having your same issue. Just re-equipped my kids with items. Lost Diamond gear. Luckily my son (5y old) put all the Netherite away in a chest. He likes to carry all the valuables in his inventory 🙄
Looks like my Xbox and iPad Minecraft apps just updated tonight. Unfortunately, looks like 2nd player accounts we’ve been playing during the last buggy release just got erased/reset. Also, can’t seem to log into the Xbox server game from the iPads after this release to see if their latest accounts are still intact. Hoping this is just a sync up delay across Xbox and mobile platforms, but has me worried the new update may have nerfed our latest efforts.
We did fire up an older game that we avoided after the prior release and all our accounts were there. Guessing this update recovered old data, but may have squashed recent 2nd player accounts that we’ve been using recently.
So, this worked for my daughter with the same problem. Are you logged into your Xbox profile on the mobile version? We’re you always logged on to your Xbox account when playing on the Xbox? Is the Xbox on a solid internet connection? We were surprised, but when my daughter logged in on mobile, she has her items. When logging in on Xbox, all items gone. This has worked for others. Sorry if it didn’t work for you 😞
@Andie, do you have a mobile version of the game? If so, while player 1 logs in to play, you can also log in and find their game and log in under your account. Your items should be there. Can then put them in a chest or something and then join as 2nd player again. You will lose your exp, but all items should be saved in the chest.
The other option is waiting for the promised release and fix. No word on release date for that fix yet.
Our issue is on Xbox One. Started with the recent update, I think on 3/10/21. My account is the main owner. Kids join as players 2,3,4. All kids data has been removed. Had to start fresh at world spawn point.
Since then, have been able to play and quit with maintained data a couple times. One daughter just bought Minecraft on the iPad and was able to log in and her original data showed up. She now plays on the iPad while we play on Xbox. Two other kids were bummed, but able to rebuild their resources that were lost. We now have them carry chests with them to dump all gear into prior to quitting. Definitely a pain and annoying. Hard to trust the game won't wipe them out again. Glad we're relatively new in the world.
On Xbox One, recently switched over to creative to recover from all the bugs affecting our world. Noticed the Spawners began to work for me, even when multiple people were logged into the game with me. I set myself as the only player in Creative mode. Everyone else was in Survival. Hope this adds a clue to where the code could be disabling Spawners for survival but reenabling them when the main account is in Creative.
