I had that exact same problem, I just uninstalled Minecraft and reinstalled Minecraft and I was able to download my pack
Minecraft made this intentially for people to have it displayed without an uninvited visitor comes... To activate it type this /setblock ~~~ sculk_shrieker ["can_summon":true]
I have one question what are the slugs?? Do you mean Slimes?
