Since MC-33254 was moved here. I'd like to add the issue that was described there:
Maps also show no longer the current position if the error happens. This is surely related to the issue here, but makes maps much more unusable than just a buggy green marker…
PS: I could resolve the issue with maps not showing my position. Since the private server I play on changed the Java version from 1.6 to 1.7 it works again. PPS: Broke again after a while, was many just the server restart?
