This is what I'm experiencing in 14w26c. I'm using Windows 7 64 bit with Java 7 64 bit. Smooth lighting is set to Maximum.

The light from a pumpkin partially bleeds around stairs to create unusual bright spots and shadows.

Removing the pumpkin, you can see that light bleeds through a ceiling of half slabs to leave the top layer bright and the rest of the room in darkness.

This issue still exists for me in 14w26b with slabs and stairs. Smooth lighting is set to maximum.

I looked at that bug, and it is basically the same as this one, but this bug report addresses the root cause (pathfinding is flawed). To be more specific, the zombies have the goal of reaching a villager that is in a space occupied by a partial block like a glass pane, fence, or half slabs. Zombie pathfinding (like every other mob's pathfinding) isn't capable of utilizing the empty space that a partial block doesn't use, so the zombie behaves as if the entire space is solid and impassable.

There has been no rewrite of the pathfinding system. I can still observe this issue in 14w18b.

For clarification, is this ticket going to now be handled within the duplicate ticket in the comment above mine?

This affects all versions up to snapshot 14w03b.

Yes, this affects all versions up to the most recent snapshot, 13w48b. This bug would require a very significant code change to fix.

I'm experiencing this in 1.7.2.

So far it's only occurred when I'm going from the Overworld to the Nether.

I see this issue was marked for 1.7.1, but it's also present in the full release of 1.7.2.

I created a world using the seed "Earth" and found a village at x: -840, z: 740 in a Savanna biome where the villagers were sprinting and opening and closing doors repeatedly. It wasn't raining. I found another village in a desert biome at x: -490, z: 1000, and the villagers were doing the same thing. It wasn't raining there, either. I completely closed the client and reloaded the world, but the villagers were still behaving strangely and sprinting.

I was experiencing this issue just now in version 1.6.4.

I'm not sure if it's something wrong with the taming process, because I wasn't getting thrown off, but I couldn't access my inventory, either.

The workaround for me was to exit the client completely and restart.

This bug should be updated to show it still affects version 1.6.2.

I tested this bug in Creative Singleplayer also and can confirm it still exists in 1.6.2.
