I can happily confirm after the recent update that this bug is fixed!

I'm using the default “visuals” mode with vibrant visuals on which no other modifications. “Change visual settings while in game” is off as well.

The framerate is very similar in how low it is when running in both docked and handheld mode (whenever docked is running correctly at 1440p and isn’t incorrectly running at 1080p as detailed in a seperate report I've made)

My FPS value was set to the default setting which is unlimited, but setting it down to 30 doesn’t seem to improve performance.

If this info helps the Switch 2 never seems to engage it's 120hz mode whenever Minecraft is being run. I've checked the “Dock Output Information” in display settings and it shows it's max possible output resolution as 4K at a maximum possible refresh rate of 60hz. Whenever the Switch 2’s 120hz mode is being engaged (such as running Cyberpunk 2077 in it's 40fps performance mode) the dock output information changes to a max possible resolution of 1440p at a maximum possible refresh rate of 120hz.

The HDMI cable I use is the one that comes included with the console. It does support high resolution and high framerate outputs.

My TV supports 120hz, but Minecraft never seems to engage the Switch 2’s 120hz mode properly as I can see by going to “Dock Output Information” in display settings (which shows the max possible resolution being 4K and the max possible refresh rate being 60hz (which is always shown if the game doesn’t support 120hz). If Minecraft was set to be able to output in the 120hz mode, it would show the dock output information that is shown whenever I run games like Cyberpunk 2077 in performance mode (a maximum possible resolution of 1440p with a max possible refresh rate if 120hz).
