I can confirm it is unlocking on Apple TV as well now.
I did have to do a complete factory reset of the Apple TV and reinstall Minecraft before it would let me sign in to Xbox Live though. I had version 1.1.5 of Minecraft installed on there for months, and lately it wouldn't let me sign in. After a factory reset and reinstalling, that issue was resolved and I could unlock the "I got that going for me" achievement.

I can confirm I'm having the same issue, exactly as described.
Multiple achievements are not unlocking on multiple devices.
