My device was not found on that link. I don't think it would help anyway, as it still crashes in airplane mode.
If you have to uninstall then reinstall to use the workaround, then you lose all your saved worlds so that is ABSOLUTELY not an option.
It would be nice if we could get a status on this other than "Community Consensus".
Updated to 1.13.1. No change - Mojang logo, white screen, then crash. Tried with and without network connection. Same for both.

If you reinstall from old backup, how do you stop it updating to 1.13 again?
Same problem here on an iPad 2 (IOS 9.3.5).
i get the minecraft logo, a white screen, then it crashes. I've restarted the iPad. No joy.
Really hope this will be fixed soon.
This is still a problem in update 1.1.2
Edit: The Xbox live account workaround did fix this, but I don't really want my daughter having this turned on all the time, so a proper fix would be nice.
I also have this problem.
Initially I was getting the crash when clicking the play button, or going to Storage Options.
I deleted all my worlds, and now I only get it when I try to create a new world.
Also using Kindle Fire HD (2nd generation)

Is anything being done about this? It's been over 3 weeks now and no sign of progress
I've had a similar problem for a few versions - you can only see the writing on signs if you are directly head on to the sign. Kindle fire hd first gen
I have this problem too, also a similar problem with signs (which goes back a few versions)
You can't read signs unless you are looking at them straight ahead on the same level.
Also water 1 block deep disappears at certain angles.
Yes we've had this happen on our kindle fire hd too but could not work out what caused it
Amazing this was reported on June 3rd and it is affecting so many people I can't believe they haven't resolved it.
Yes this affects my daughters kindle fire HD I think it's the first gen.. She is devastated. There is no available operating system upgrade.
Other devices connected to worlds on the affected device (kindle fire HD 1st gen) can see the items correctly.
Sorry - I did search but I couldn't find anything.. I must have been doing it wrong.
I can confirm that 1.13.2 has fixed the problem on my iPad 2 (IOS version 9.3.5), so thanks Developers, and I'll now be locking it to this version from now on to protect me from future problems. Bye.
