I am also experiencing lag on my 6th Gen, 12.9-inch iPad Pro with the latest version of Minecraft Bedrock for iOS (1.21.72). There is a consistent delay of several seconds when interacting with the touch screen for all actions (selection, interaction, block placement, and movement). Additionally, since 1.21.72, the game has been depleting battery at a much faster rate than normal, consuming approx. 1% of battery every minute. The iPad also gets warmer than usual. I am accustomed to Minecraft requiring significant battery and so typically keep my device plugged into power when playing, but I am not able to do that since 1.21.72 because playing while connected to power causes the iPad battery to exceed operating temperatures (I get a system warning on my screen). I have adjusted game settings and reduced FPS with no result. The ONLY way I have found to stop the game from overheating my iPad is to turn on Airplane mode and play offline. Playing offline does not improve the lag. I am hopeful this can be addressed soon. Thank you.

Thank you for the advice about forcing a save. To be honest, I was getting so frustrated I hadn't thought of trying that. I, unfortunately, got angry and deleted the world that was causing the problem and have not yet created a new one, but when the issue recurs (which I am sure it will) I will try your suggestion.

I hadn't planned on reporting my issue here, however other crash reports that were more in line with what I had been experiencing were being redirected here with the ubiquitous, "this issue is duplicated by...". I'm not sure if this report is being used as the poster child for all crash related issues, or if someone got a little overzealous with the copy/paste. I have had the game crash several times while attempting to load. Basically it hits the splash screen for a split second then tosses me back out to the home screen. Did it nine times in a row, once, but I haven't had that problem since I reverted back to the default Steve skin. I'll keep an eye out for that little piece of fun, too.

Thanks again for the tip!

I am also experiencing crash issues severe enough as to prevent the game being played. I am using an iPad Pro 12.9-inch running the latest iOS (9.3.1). My Minecraft version is 0.14.1. Whenever I open an existing world, the instant I move from the initial loading location of the character, the game crashes. I can look around, but any movement in any direction will crash the game. I have rebooted my iPad, reverted back to the default "Steve" skin, and turned multiplayer off, but this does not resolve the issue. In fact, I have noticed that the multiplayer-off setting is not retained and is consistently being turned back on after every crash despite being set prior to loading the world. A quick fix for this issue would be appreciated, since the game is currently unplayable for me.

My iPad Air just installed the latest v0.13.1 alpha for Minecraft PE and rain particles continue to pass through solid blocks. I am unable to check if this was one of the many "bug fixes" mentioned in the update notes, as I am unable to locate a change log posted yet for this new version. Thought I would mention it just in case.

I can report that this issue persists under the most recent (0.13) Minecraft update. I am playing on an iPad Air system 9.1 and rain particles continue to pass through all solid blocks.
