No even if you make a new microsoft account and connect it to my account it will still say "another account is already connected to this microsoft account"
FWIW, I suspect these are different bugs. The Xbox bug cropped up suddenly after a rushed fix for a different bug (I doubt this is a coincidence). That probably made it easy for MS to fix it. Looking at the logs on my server from Xbox clients seeing this bug, they don’t look like the symptoms that the Playstation and Switch folks have reported here.
Doesn’t excuse MS ignoring SMP on the other platforms for months, mind you-- it just might explain what’s going on.
