How old is the iphone and what version?
There will probably be a new update very soon (24-48 hours) this was a very bad update. So you can right now either go down a version and hopefully have a backup of your world or have to wait.
There will probably be a hotfix update very soon otherwise this is the most infamous update that broke Minecraft. Also check if you have snapshot enabled. If not wait for the next update.
Question: what are you playing on? (Tablet, phone, console, pc?) Also what system? (Example apple windows android)
Try reinstalling minecraft. Might of corrupted on download (which is common for Nintendo products recently)

there are other blocks effected: Smooth stone, smooth stone slab.
That should be a feature but should turn bees hostile in the area of said wither rose.
